Groundwater monitoring wells must be developed after installation. This is critical to remove fine-grained sediments (fines) from the area around the well screen. Once fines are removed, the formation water will flow freely through the well, and the turbidity in the well is greatly reduced. Inertial pumps utilize high-density polyethylene (HDPE) tubing, footvalves and surge blocks (optional) to remove fines and effectively develop monitoring wells.
