The MGD-2002 uses helium as a tracer gas to detect leaks in most pressurized systems. Hydrogen can also be used with the detector; however, helium is safe, and does not react or pollute. Additionally, the MGD-2002 is sensitive enough to detect helium when it is mixed with ambient air in large volume systems. This reduces costs during testing.
Designed for one-handed operation, the MGD-2002 is ergonomic, comes with a tactile membrane keybad and emits an audible 'click' after each selection. The detector is shipped with headphones which connect to the unit's audio indicator. The backlit display can be viewed in many different light conditions. The unit powers up and is ready to go in 30 seconds. The wand includes a field-replaceable moisture removing cartridge.
The kit includes the unit, a lightweight, telescoping ground probe with boot, rapid charging Ni-MH battery with AC and car adaptors, headphones and a case.
