The Hollowstem Auger Kit is equipped with a 3-inch diameter auger barrel. Hollowstem auger kits provide the tools needed to auger up to 6 feet below ground surface and are suitable for soil, soil gas and groundwater sampling through a cased hole. A special hollowstem soil probe, 7/8-inch outer diameter by 24 inches long, with a slide hammer is included to allow collection of a soil sample through the auger. The gas vapor probes may be used through these augers telescopically. Bailers up to 1 inch in diameter may be used to collect groundwater samples.
